Habang pinapatulog ko yung baby kasabay ng pakikinig ng classical music (dahil nauubusan na ako ng kanta) naisipan kong magblog-hop at di ko matiis na hindi mag-comment matapos kong mabasa na nabuo na ang Pinoy Bibliobloggers Mafia or PBB-M according to Arnold.
I'm so glad something of this magnitude took place and I'm sure if I was in Manila I would have been there, kaya nai-inggit ako. Baka naman pwede akong maging honorary member, hehe.
Anyway, regarding Von's concern on the dearth of Filipino blograrians, here are counter-arguments to what Von has presented : Librarians are never too busy not to blog (they love to be in meetings). They just choose not to, couldn't be bothered. I have to agree with Arnold's comment in this particular post that librarians are too shy to put their writing skills to the fore. A lot of insecurities there. As for female librarians, they are as tech-savvy as male librarians are especially the young ones; I know a number of them; but again they are either just biding their time and testing the waters of blogging, or silently reading other blogs, or they are more interested in building their online social networks than blogging. After all, blogging is an intellectual exercise and is more draining than entertaining. And as the majority of Filipino librarians are female and married, concerns on the home front come next to work and blogging would be a distraction. Take it from me but blogging for me is not a distraction but a medium for expressing myself.
I just wish you guys all the best but I hope you don't become "Untouchables" or you just might raise the eyebrows of a lot of people. 'LOL'
